Job Description:

Tantor Media seeks an Accounting Manager to join its entrepreneurial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all areas of finance and will report directly to the CEO.
A minimum 5 years account or finance manager experience necessary. Successful candidate will possess strong analytical, negotiation and managerial skills.
Success Factors:
- Help increase 2012 EBITA by 40%:
- Setup, prepare and update monthly reporting for senior management. Provide cost vs. benefit guidance and recommendations for 3 unique business segments.
- Prepare and review P&L and capital expenditure budgets, forecasts and goals at both micro and macro levels.
- Collaborate on senior management bonus programs targeted at increasing EBITDA.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts for addition of key eBook and audio download distribution partners.
- Finance Department:
- Manage bookkeeping, A/R, A/P, purchasing and payroll functions and direct reports current responsible for these functions.
- Audit accounting processes monthly. Ensure accuracy of 99% or better.
- Perform planning and analysis of monthly cash flow.
- Perform monthly P&L closings and provide internal and external financial statements in timely manner.
- Improve general ledger account structure and reporting.
- Work with I.T. department and external developers to create improved royalty calculations through reporting software.
- Coordinate with external accounting firm regarding tax preparation. Identify and implement opportunities to reduce income taxes.
- Renew and improve credit lines and loans. Manage existing bank relationships and develop additional banking relationships.
- Improve inventory management with a 50% inventory reduction goal by end of Q2 2012.
- Provide a financial software evaluation and improvement plan.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar area of study and five year’s related experience.
- Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and banking knowledge.
- Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Excel.
- Strong computer skills and software knowledge.
- Tenacious, independent and self-motivated to meet or exceed goals.
- CPA is preferred but not required.
